Common questions

Personal insurance questions.

Can I bundle home and auto insurance?
Yes. Most insurers offer a multi-line discount when your home and auto sit with the same company, and having one renewal date is simpler to manage. Whether it works out cheaper depends on the insurer and on both policies, so a broker can compare it against keeping them separate.
How often should I review my insurance?
Review your policies together each year. Some changes need to be reviewed when they happen. Tell HIFA what changed on either policy. Your broker can confirm whether the insurer needs to be notified and whether the bundle still holds.
What information do I need for a quote?
You do not need every document before contacting HIFA. Having both current policies to hand is the single most useful thing, because it lets the broker compare rather than guess. Exact requirements vary by insurer and situation. HIFA will confirm what is needed before anything is submitted.
Can HIFA help if I already have insurance somewhere else?
Yes. A review is a review. Send your current policy and we will explain what it covers, where the limits sit and whether it still matches your situation. If it is well matched and fairly priced, we will say so.
Does switching insurers affect my coverage?
Coverage wording can differ between insurers. HIFA compares coverage as well as price. Your broker will explain any mid-term cancellation considerations before anything is changed.
Can I talk to someone before getting a quote?
You do not need to understand the policy before you call. Share the facts and documents available. Your broker can identify what is missing and explain the next step. HIFA can explain the policy, review what you already have and tell you when staying put may be the better choice.
